To protect heritage sites of outstanding universal value to humanity, international cooperation in various fields, including technology, resources, and research were required

By adopting the 「Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage」 in 1972, UNESCO is continuing its activities for the protection of World Heritage sites together with State Parties. The Convention, to protect the world's heritage sites of Outstanding Universal Value, is recognized as the most active international convention thus far and sets the standard for heritage management and protection practices.
