     Research on Developing “Interpretation Strategy”

    • In 2023, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee adopted the “Guiding Principles

for the Preparation of Nominations Concerning Sites of Memory Associated with Recent Conflicts.” These guiding principles require the establishment of an “interpretation strategy” that can demonstrate the multi-dimensional meanings of heritage.

    • In response, WHIPIC aims to examine the meanings and components of the “interpretation strategies” understood in the field and to specify a World Heritage “interpretation strategy” for the ethical and responsible interpretation of all World Heritage sites.

    Outcomes
