Discussion with the World Heritage Centre for Building the World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation Clearinghouse

Since its establishment, WHIPIC has been conducting various research to build an information system that serves as the foundation for interpreting and presenting World Heritage. This year, as an initial step towards developing the 'World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation Clearinghouse,' the Centre is engaging in discussions with various collaborative institutions to secure related data.

In July, representatives from the Centre visited the World Heritage Centre(WHC) to discuss ways to utilize World Heritage data to produce and distribute secondary informational content. Mr. Asomo, the Director of the WHC, proposed gradually expanding this initiative through a pilot project starting in 2025, and the Centre agreed to continue detailed discussions on this matter.

WHIPIC also participated in discussions on the development of World Heritage during the Open-ended Working Group that was taking place during the visit to Paris.
