Call for Applications: 2024 WHIPIC Internship Programme
The International Centre for Interpretation and Presentation of World Heritage Sites under the auspices of UNESCO (WHIPIC), designated as a UNESCO Category 2 Centre, was established to promote the understanding and protection of World Heritage globally through inclusive heritage interpretation and presentation.
The WHIPIC Internship Programme is a learning opportunity for students and recent graduates to learn about World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation as well as enhance their academic and technical knowledge through practical assignments.
Internship Description
- Duration: 3 months during the year
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00
- Workplace: WHIPIC, 2107 Hannuri-daero, Sejong-si, Republic of Korea
- Number of Participants: 2 persons
- Monthly Living Allowance: KRW 750,000
Requirements
- Age: You must be at least 20 years old to apply
- Academic qualifications: Degrees in relevant area (World Heritage or International Cooperation)
- Languages: English or Korean
- Visa: You should be responsible for obtaining any necessary visas
- Travel: You must arrange and finance your travel to Sejong-si, ROK
- Communication skills: You should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

Selection procedure
1. Each applicant should submit the following application package;
- The completed application form
- Curriculum Vitae(maximum 2 pages)
2. Once you have submitted your application, please request an online interview to WHIPIC by e-mail (whipic@unesco-whipic.org)
3. We will contact you by email to arrange an online interview to select the successful candidates
4. If you are selected following an online interview, you will receive an e-mail with your internship offer letter from WHIPIC
Notice
- Make sure your contact details will be valid in next 6 months
- You can only use English in applying
- Internship start dates will be set based on your dates of availability and the WHIPIC's schedules: do not forget to specify the date of your availability in the application form
- Before the beginning of your internship, you must provide your ID/Certificate of Enrollment/Diploma
- Your work will depend on the needs of the office to which you are assigned, your qualifications and interests. If you have specific interests or requirements for your degree, you should include this information on your CV
- Due to the high volume of applications received, we are not in a position to provide individual feedback
- If you are not contacted by WHIPIC within three months following your application's submission, it means that your application has not been successful
