Mr. Changnam Hong, the newly inaugurated Director-General of the UNESCO World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation Centre, held his inauguration ceremony on September 1 and began his three-year official term, lasting until August 31, 2026.

During his inaugural address, Director-General Hong expressed, "I feel a profound sense of gratitude and responsibility for having been allowed to contribute to the advancement of World Heritage." He added, "Through establishing a stable organizational operating system and securing future growth engines, I will do my utmost to ensure the centre's reputation as a leading institution for World Heritage."

He is a National Heritage expert who has served in various positions, including the Director of Natural Heritage Division, the Director of Inspection and Legal affairs, the Director of Cultural Heritage Risk Management Division, the Director for Planning and Finance at the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Director of Safety and Disaster Prevention Division at the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage.
