A Practical Education Course on
World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation

2022 UNESCO Practical Education Course on World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation was conducted for 2 days from November 17 to 18 in Korea National University of Cultural Heritage and Baekje Historic Areas. This was the first capacity-building program for heritage managers after the foundation of the center. 36 world heritage managers from 24 domestic institutions participated in this event. This education program provided a wonderful opportunity to share information on various roles of parties related to heritages including the general overview of world heritages, definitions of world heritage interpretation and presentation, instruments to address imminent issues of heritage preservation and management. On the last day of this practical education course, participants visited Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju, which is part of Baekje Historic Areas, and Busosanseong Fortress, where they had a time to examine other values of heritages while listening to comments of the culture commentator.

This education course was conducted for heritage managers involved in world heritage preservation, management, and utilization. 5 sessions of theoretical lectures and practices helped attenders to interpret and present world heritages for themselves and to better understand the importance of world heritages that they were managing.
