Basic Research on
World Heritage Presentation Methodologies
The purpose of this research project is to make up for the research ‘interpretation’ and ‘presentation’ terminologies that are somewhat focused on ‘interpretation’ and the imbalance in related project achievements, emphasize the function and importance of presentation based on exemplary cases of various methodologies applicable to ‘presentation’ of world heritages, and come up with mid-long term project ideas in connection with the center’s ‘research’, ‘capability strengthening’, and ‘informatization’.
The unique role of ‘world heritage presentation’ is to share diverse values of world heritage sites through ‘communication’ between different stakeholders The research consists of 5 chapters as below.
1. Previous studies on concepts and methodologies of presentation
2. Current condition and trends of world heritage presentation methods
3. key stakeholders and projects related to world heritage presentation
4. In-depth interviews with key stakeholders and implications
5. Mid-long term projects for promoting effective presentation
The outcome of the ‘basic research for world heritage presentation methodologies’ will be a primary reference for WHIPIC’s various future projects and activities about ‘presentation’ to promote understanding and share the values of World Heritage through ‘communication’ between the stakeholders.
