The Information Management Office is currently working on the ISP Information Strategy Planning) to provide the blueprint for ‘an information platform for world heritage interpretation and presentation this year (2022).’
From its conclusion (1972) up to now, UNESCO World Heritage Convention has contributed to the perception that heritages representing other countries and cultures are our common properties with cross-border universal values as well as international cooperation under this perception. In addition to this achievement, we have this future mission to embrace the value variety of world heritage and to communicate with all to share the values for co-prosperity.
As a matter of fact, most world heritage information has been limited to historical, artistic, and academic ‘Outstanding Universal Values (OUV)’ as specified by the Convention. The ‘information platform for world heritage interpretation and presentation’ to be established by the center aims to overcome limitations of the existing world heritage information system through its information sharing services that connect core value data including OUV and various extended value data that have been neglected.
To establish the basis for informatization, the center is planning to conduct a research project on world heritage interpretation and presentation data next year (2023).
