WHIPIC : We-Pick! is back with its second episode, “Women of the Sacred Grove“, which has been released!”
WHIPIC : We-Pick! is a WHIPIC project that creates interpretive content through short animations about World Heritage sites and distributes them online. This year, under the theme "Finding Our Her-itage," we have selected three World Heritage sites that highlight the contributions of women and are presenting their stories. The first episode featured Belgium's "Flemish Béguinages in the Flanders Region.“
Flemish Béguinages in Flanders Region, Belgium: Women of Tranquility
The second episode focuses on Nigeria's "Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove," which was inscribed as a World Heritage site in 2005. The "Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove" is where the Yoruba people's faith and culture, centred around the worship of the goddess Osun, the symbol of fertility, prosperity, and protection, have flourished. Yoruba women lead the sacred rituals and festivals dedicated to the goddess Osun. This grove holds not only the stories of the goddess Osun and Yoruba women but also that of an Austrian artist.
