Online Pre-Meeting for the 3rd Annual Category 2 Institutes and Centres (C2Cs) Conference
As a special event of WHIPIC's anniversary celebration on May 31, the Strategic Planning Offiice is hosting the 8th annual conference, inviting all 8 Category 2 Institutes and Centres (C2Cs) related to World Heritage. The meeting will take place over three days, from May 31 to June 2, with the overarching theme of "Heritage Interpretation for Sustainable Development".
This year's annual conference, which was suspended due to COVID-19, will resume after a four-year hiatus, and we are preparing it with the support and encouragement of all C2 institutions, including the World Heritage Centre.
The annual conference will include discussions and sharing of experiences on five themes to strengthen cooperation among C2 institutions. It will also include the adoption of a ‘Declaration on Strengthening Solidarity’ among C2 institutions, actively led by WHIPIC.
In order to hold an inclusive conference that can accommodate the interests and current issues of participating institutions, the Strategic Planning Office held a total of four online pre-meetings on February 24th, March 10th, March 24th, and April 7th, starting with the first meeting on February 24th."
Through the pre-meetings, we were able to enhance the completeness of the conference by discussing and exchanging opinions on the agenda and key contents of the declaration for the annual conference.
Based on the declaration to be adopted at the annual conference, WHIPIC will further strengthen its solidarity with C2 institutions in the future.
